Before you enter your items for the sale, ask yourself the 3 C’s: Is it cute? Is it clean? Is it current? If you are questionable on any of those answers, save it for your garage sale. Bring only your best. We want this shopping experience to feel more like a boutique than a thrift store.
We accept gently used items in current styles and excellent condition free of stains, smells, and tears. We accept clothing ranging from petite to plus, including maternity, as well as nice home décor and furniture. In the fall, we will be accepting fall and winter items and at our spring sale, we accept spring and summer items. Listed below are items we accept for each of the unique boutiques within My Sister’s House.
Clothing: Limited to 70 items
Jeans: 8 pairs (of the 70 clothing items)
Shoes: Limited to 10 pairs
Jewelry: Limited to 20 pieces
2. professional wear: suits (skirts and pant suits), scrubs
3. formal wear: special occasion dresses, prom dresses, cocktail dresses, and wedding dresses
4. accessories: purses, hats, scarves, and belts
5. spring/summer shoes: sandals, tennis shoes, dress shoes, cowboy boots, nice flip flops in good condition
6. maternity clothes, plus sizes, and petite sizes
7. jewelry: necklaces, bracelets, earrings, rings, working watches, broaches, and sunglasses
2. fine furniture: end tables, coffee tables, chairs, current sofas, bedroom furniture, desks, dining room sets, armoires, buffets, bookshelves, and patio furniture
In an effort to keep the sale feeling more like a boutique than a thrift store, there are several items we will not be accepting.
2. tangled or mismatched jewelry
3. watches that are not working
4. clothing that is faded, worn-out, stained, or dated (unless it’s vintage)
5. t-shirts (Basic t-shirts like those you would get screen-printed will not be accepted. Fitted tees from Gap, Banana Republic, J. Crew, etc. are fine.)
6. fall and winter items (sweaters, long sleeve shirts, wool items, coats)
2. collectible knick-knacks, figurines, used candles, empty frames, baskets, and cheap glass vases
3. kitchen supplies, pots and pans, utensils, and appliances
4. electronics, DVD’s, CD’s, books, magazines, and photo albums
5. towels and shower curtain liners
6. holiday décor
7. exercise equipment and luggage
8. any items that are worn-out, stained, torn, or dated
If you have any question about the acceptability of an item, please email us before the sale. We will attempt to be fair and equitable as we inspect items, but we will have a variety of workers helping in this process and some decisions are subjective. Please be patient and gracious if an item is not accepted.
