Before you enter your items, ask yourself the 3 C’s: Is it cute? Is it clean? Is it current?If you are questioning any of those answers, save it for your garage sale. Please bring only your best. We want this shopping experience to feel more like an eclectic boutique than a thrift store. We accept gently used items in current styles and excellent condition free of stains, smells, and tears. We will be accepting fall/winter clothes at our fall sale and spring/summer clothing at our spring sale. We have also added a vintage rack for items in excellent condition from the 80’s and earlier. Listed below are items we accept for each of the unique boutiques within My Sister’s House.
Clothing: Limited to 75 fall items per gender
Jeans: Limited to10 pairs per gender per category (For example: 10 Misses, 10 Maternity & 10 Juniors) of the 75 items
home decor: working lamps, art, curtains, shower curtains, bedding, rugs, wall hangings, kitchen linens, aprons, serving platters, dish or glassware sets (4 or more), decorative pillows, vintage suitcases, large baskets, large decorative frames (11 x 17 or larger)
quality furniture in good condition that’s not too dated (unless it’s vintage)
holiday decor (set of 4 or more coordinating), stockings, tree skirts, holiday linens, Christmas trees, wreaths and garland in mint condition, dishes (sets of 4), serving pieces, tea towels in mint condition (or vintage), decorative rugs, throws, pillows, wall hangings, nativity sets, tree toppers
mattresses, cribs, changing tables, children’s furniture, and toys
collectible knick-knacks and figurines (with the exception of Willow Tree), candles, small votive holders, empty frames (smaller than 11 x 17), small baskets, and cheap glass vases
kitchen supplies, pots and pans, utensils, and appliances
electronics, DVD’s, CD’s, books, magazines, and photo albums
towels and shower curtain liners, bath mats
any items that are worn-out, stained, torn, dated, or out of season
holiday decor: Christmas lights, outdoor decor (inflatables, yard art, etc.), individual mugs, dishes, or ornaments, frames, knick-knacks (small figurines and collectibles unless in a full set like a nativity), wrapping paper, boxes, tins, books
If you have any question about the acceptability of an item, please email us before the sale. We will attempt to be fair and equitable as we inspect items, but we will have a variety of workers helping in this process and some decisions are subjective. Please be patient and gracious if an item is not accepted.
HOW TO SPOT A FAUX DESIGNER BAG
Please refer to the links below if you have a question about whether a bag is real. We will be using these guidelines to inspect Designer Purses. If we spot a faux bag, we are not legally permitted to resell it. We do our best to only accept authentic designer bags. Thanks for understanding.
