Volunteer Information
We are looking for hard working volunteers who will barter services in exchange for a Worker Pre-Sale Pass which will get you into My Sister’s House to shop before consignors or the public. 12 and 18 hour volunteers also receive 70% instead of 65% of their sales, as well as having the $15.00 consignor fee waived or reduced. You must be a consignor to volunteer.
18 Hour Perks consignor fee waived, earn 70% of sales and shop at the 4:00 Volunteer Pre-Sale
12 Hour Perks pay a $5.00 consignor fee, earn 70% of sales and shop at the 5:00 Volunteer Pre-Sale
6 Hour Perks pay a $10.00 consignor fee and shop a the 6:00 Volunteer Pre-Sale
SHIFTS
Each volunteer must work a minimum of 6 hours or an equivalent. For example, you can sign up to work:
Three 6 hr shifts = 18 hours Two 3 hr barters & Two 6 hr shifts = 18 hours
Two 6 hr shifts = 12 hours OR Two 3 hr barters & One 6 hr shift = 12 hours
Two 3 hr shifts or one 6 hr shift = 6 hours
BARTERING
Can’t volunteer but want to increase your sales? We recognize that not everyone is available to volunteer during our designated sale hours so we have provided a bartering option. Each volunteer can only choose 2 bartering positions in addition to one 6 hour shift. (See notes above.) A barter counts as 3 hours worked.
Barter jobs include: posting flyers at 25 businesses and delivering and picking up yard signs before and after the sale. You can sign up for barter shifts on the Volunteer sign up sheet online.
VOLUNTEER AGREEMENT
We depend on our volunteers in order to run a smooth sale. Please come ready to work on time. If you sign up for a volunteer shift and do not show up or are later than 15 minutes, the percentage of your consigned items will be deducted by 30%. You must agree to and be willing to sign the volunteer agreement.
WHAT TO WEAR, BRING, & EXPECT
Volunteers will given an apron and a name tag to wear while working at My Sister’s House. Please wear a solid color shirt so that our volunteers are easily recognizable to consignors and shoppers. You may also want to wear comfortable shoes as we will be keeping you busy during your shift!
We will not be providing food this year so you may bring a drink and meal or snacks if you like. A refrigerator will be available. We do not allow our volunteers to leave for meals during your shift. Thanks for understanding.
